A cinematic Jazz experience
Inspired by the golden age of Swing
A vibrant live jazz show exploring the elegance and energy of 1920s to 1950s swing,
blending American standards, French repertoire and a strong visual identity.
About
Ô de mon Chéri is a Paris-based jazz vocalist, bandleader and producer with nearly 20 years of international experience, having performed in 22 countries across Europe, the United States and the Middle East.
Singing in multiple languages and having lived in cities such as Paris and Barcelona, she has developed a distinctive artistic voice at the crossroads of American jazz and French chanson.
Rooted in the aesthetics of the Art Deco era, her work draws on the elegance, theatricality and boldness of early 20th century performance.
Influenced by artists such as Billie Holiday and Charles Aznavour, she blends musical precision with emotional depth and a strong visual identity, creating performances that are both refined and deeply expressive.
Current project
Ô de mon Chéri sings Anita O’Day (2026)
This project is the result of a long-standing artistic vision, gradually shaped over the years as a desire to explore a more daring and expressive approach to jazz.
While Ô de mon Chéri’s earlier work has been strongly rooted in the 1920s and 1930s repertoire — which remains an essential part of her artistic identity — this new album and live show explore a different direction.
Through the music of Anita O’Day, she engages with a more rhythm-driven approach to phrasing, selecting pieces that open new spaces for interaction, contrast and musical risk.
Performed as a septet (voice, guitar, double bass, drums and three horns — trumpet, trombone, saxophone/clarinet), the project develops a powerful musical identity where the voice interacts within the ensemble, rather than simply leading it.
The arrangements are written by trumpeter Jean-Baptiste Bridon, shaping a refined and dynamic sound that bridges tradition and a more cinematic, narrative dimension.
On stage, the project unfolds as a dialogue between influences and identity — an encounter between Anita O’Day’s legacy and Ô de mon Chéri’s own artistic language: vibrant, sophisticated, and at times playfully irreverent.
Repertoire & musical approach
From the high-energy intensity of Them There Eyes to the playful elegance of
Tea for Two, and the instrumental vocal approach of Malagueña, the repertoire
explores a wide range of dynamics and bold interpretation in the spirit of Anita O’Day.
The live experience
Visually, the project draws inspiration from Anita O’Day’s stage presence, reinterpreted through Ô de mon Chéri’s own aesthetic — blending vintage references with a contemporary and personal touch.
This can be seen in two contrasting stage silhouettes: a custom-made reinterpretation of Anita O’Day’s iconic black dress, and a bold red look that is unmistakably Ô de mon Chéri — together reflecting the dialogue between tribute and personal identity.
For selected performances, the show can be enhanced with renowned retro dancers, performing in unique vintage-inspired custom-made costumes, bringing an additional visual and theatrical dimension to the stage.
